HOW IT WORKS: Everyone’s welcome. Most weeks, we start each session with a set Playlist. The Playlist begins with easier songs to accommodate warmup as well as ease for newer players. The Playlist is chosen from “Daily Ukulele, 365,” then progresses to tunes on the SCU “Alphabetical song list” that we’ve played before and are more challenging. There are many arrangements and more complex versions of songs in the same keys as 365. Either version will sound great.
REMEMBER!! Second Sunday Uke Jams at Hambone’s Pub in Lawrenceville. Next Jam, Sunday, April 14. For details: http://www.meetup.com/Steel-City-Ukuleles/

Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright (attachment and it’s a Dylan song, this key is different from original)
Since we had some questions about tab last session, I thought for fun we could try an exercise that would allow us to practice tab but also allow us to sound like an orchestra doing it. Don’t worry if you don’t want to play tab, there are chords to play too. I promise it will be fun and not work!
Now this link takes you to the music we will play which I am cribbing from the UOGB workshop some of us attended last fall. For people wanting chords or easy tab, print the GCEA Melody tab or GCEA Melody tab with Easy Chord. For those wanting a little more complexity, GCEA Countermelody tab.

The link below has a nice primer on reading tab from my fave uke website, Ukulele Hunt. Please don’t be put off by the label “intermediate” lessons.

We start to play at 5 pm and continue until 7 pm. Come early and sample Hambone’s menu; meet other players over a beverage or just tune up. Plan to arrive by 4 pm (or earlier) in order to finish eating before play starts. Parking is free on Sundays and there is a city lot across the street from Hambone’s.
The format of these Jams includes starting with easier songs from“The Daily Ukulele:365 Songs,” playing additional “365″ songs and then moving into the leader’s play list. Participant recommendations are played, along with any new songs you want to present.
Bring the “Daily” book, a music stand, and 20 copies of any music you want to play. The goal is to have fun, improve your uke skills and meet people with a similar interest.
If possible, please print any songs that you don’t already have.
